I've had similiar qualms about SmartCourse products and OpenClass. Little different, but in each case there's a marriage of content and delivery method that cuts out creation of content and/or teaching design by the instructor. A set down the road to cutting out the middle man, perhaps? Might content experts of the future design content and evaluate students' mastery of it, but not "teach" as we understand it today?
